How Curie Keeps You Dry
Is it just us or does everything magically feel better once the weather starts to warm up? As the days get longer and the temperatures rise we can feel our happiness levels spike. However, there’s just one annoying thing about the hotter, brighter days — excess sweat. Nothing kills our mood quite like feeling damp or realizing we have sweat stains on our shirt.
We recognize how important it is to have a deodorant you can rely on to keep you feeling dry, fresh, and confident, which is why we developed our powerfully clean stick and spray deos with effective ingredients that combat sweat and moisture in a pinch. Instead of pore-clogging aluminum (which can actually accelerate sweat production, FYI) our sweat-fighting heroes include arrowroot powder and sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) in our classic stick deodorant, and witch hazel and probiotics in our deodorant & body spray.
How do these ingredients work?
Arrowroot Powder
Arrowroot powder comes from the starchy arrowroot plant, which is very similar to a potato. (You can even eat it!) When ground into a powder, it acts as a super absorber to sop up excess sweat, moisture, and water. In addition to its impressive absorbent properties, arrowroot powder is also incredibly gentle and can help calm irritation, making it safe for even the most sensitive armpits. Plus, an extra little detail that we love is that the ingredient helps give our deodorant its luxuriously smooth glide!
Sodium Bicarbonate (Baking Soda)
Sure, baking soda is the key element that helps your cookies rise when you’re baking, but did you know that it can also help rebalance your pits? Beyond absorbing moisture, the ingredient has natural alkaline properties which staves off bacteria and minimizes odors. (Science fun fact: Underarm bacteria can only thrive in an acidic environment.) Essentially, baking soda stops odor-causing bacteria right in its tracks.
That said, baking soda sometimes gets a bad rep because it can be irritating for those with ultra-sensitive skin. Luckily, we figured out that pairing it with gentle arrowroot powder prevents rashes and other irritations. Nothing but smooth sailing here!
Witch Hazel
If you want to avoid baking soda altogether, try our whole body deodorant spray which uses witch hazel to keep dampness at bay. If you have oily skin, you might already use witch hazel on the regular, but did you know that it also functions as a natural deodorizer? Thanks to its inherent astringent and anti-inflammatory properties it quickly wicks away moisture while also balancing skin flora and killing any bacteria that can cause odors. There are few things we love more than a good multi-tasking ingredient!
Probiotics
Probiotics are a powerhouse skin flora balancer that keeps you feeling and smelling fresh. In our Deodorant & Body Spray, a quick spritz prevents bacteria from producing pungent odors. Paired with deodorizing witch hazel, you’ll maintain dryness — and most importantly, confidence — all day long.
What Customers Say
It’s no secret that we could rave about the benefits of our sweat-busting ingredients all day…but don’t take our word for it. See what some of our satisfied customers have to say about their fresh, dry pits!
“Keeps me dry all day long and no odor. I was at the point of thinking I needed clinical-type deodorants and finding one with no aluminum that actually worked was so hard. So happy with this product!!” - Tiana
“I had been looking for a deodorant that did not have harmful chemicals but yet would give me protection. I saw an ad for Curie, and thought why not try? Well, I love it, smells fresh, clean, and keeps me dry (most importantly!!) I will never look back, thank you Curie!” - Amber
Still convinced you need aluminum to stop sweating? We’ll let you in on one more tidbit: aluminum actually clogs your pores and forces your body to produce more sweat. Our clean alternatives naturally minimize sweat production without halting the normal bodily process. Ready to experience the clean, dry magic? Time to TRY CURIE DEODORANT for yourself! ✨
